Dingdong was simply an eye candy before – someone who stars in teenybopper TV shows and movies. He has been a loyal prince of this little kingdom called GMA Network, waiting for the right recognition one awaits in showbiz while he’s counterparts in the other station have expedited far enough on their own leagues. But he remained faithful to his mother network and after more than a decade in the industry, his hard work finally paid off. Dingdong is now one of the most bankable leading men of GMA, along with Richard Gutierrez and Dennis Trillo. He was the lead actor of several GMA fantaseryes (fantaserye, according to Wikipedia, is a genre of Philippine television which mixes soap opera, fantasy, myth, magic and enchantment) including Encantadia, Atlantika, MariMar and Dyesebel. Most recently, after his Hanford Underwear contract expired, Dingdong signed up and joined the big family of Bench Body.

Sorry to say this, but there is something odd with Dingdong's face. He is nowhere near ugly, but he doesn't register as classical beauty (to me) either. I guess its his squashed face, like Rayver's (ie the eye to mouth length is too short compared to the overall face ratio), his absurdly thin upper lip, and his slighly bulging eyes. He has a boyish beauty but its something one will easily get bored with. His acting is passable and still far from best actor material (yet). He is definitely a by-product of the Marimar phenomenon. If he could rise above just being Sergio or an underwear model, kudos to him.
