Right after my shift last Friday, I decided to go to Puerto Galera by hook or by crook. I stayed there for barely two days with some acquaintances and friends. I also bumped into some people I know from high school and the office. In an island that small, I must say it was some sort of a coincidence that I would meet these old friends on a Black Saturday. It was actually my first time to visit Galera and though the experience wasn’t that super-addicting, I was still made a Galera fan. For those who haven’t heard yet, this island is actually full of gay people (as in homos), but straight guys and girls can make a great battalion, too. Foods available may not pass your standards, but budget-conscious tourists will probably enjoy the wide variety of room accommodations beside the white beach. If you’re looking for real adventure, there are itineraries that would include, among others, island-hopping, snorkeling, sea diving and a tour to the popular Tamaraw Falls. (The title comes from the song Sex On The Beach by Vengaboys.)
