Daybreak
Blogging through my friend's wireless phone here in Tagaytay. We all came from a very stressful night shift just a few hours ago, but today marks the start of our 3-day off and this is just the perfect thing for me to do. I may look a little stressed out here but I'm glad I've found some friends who are willing to 'road trip' this far to chill out and intoxicate. Taal's lake and volcano is a piece of beauty. Now it's also a perfect backdrop for a little unplanned nomo session by worn out nocturnal call center agents.

Muchos Gracias, Brian!
It’s only lately when I found out that Simply Manila has been linked into Brian Gorrell’s blog. Of course, everyone in the blogosphere (and beyond) knows this Aussie gay guy who became the most controversial blogger in 2008 after his widespread exposure of Manila’s damaged and immature high society. What his blog started might not compensate his losses, but I salute Brian for his audacity to share what everyone should know. I’ve been victimized by opportunistic and greedy friends myself in so many ways than one, and I never learned my lesson. I think there’s one thing that we always fail to notice—nearly everyone who loves to gain your trust will most likely stab your back. If you easily trust people, just be careful. I’m glad I’m reminding myself. Thanks, Brian, for linking me up.

Sagwan's Synopsis
Sagwan is story of an 18-year-old rural boy named Alfred, whose routinary life as a boatman complicates as he discovers how much more life around him has to offer. His haunting family’s dark past inhibits him from living his young life freely. Set in a charming provincial town in the Philippines, where the river and the hanging bridge are equally popular to tourists as the young boatmen, Alfred reluctantly gives in to experience what his peers seem to be enjoying much. His romantic relationship with his mute girlfriend, Cecilia (daughter of his landlord), and the self discovery of his family’s dark secret increasingly complicates his journey. Until one unexpected chance awakens his innocence, conquers his haunting dark past and makes him realize that life’s pleasure lies beyond who you are and who you’re with.

Walang Hanggang Paalam
Here’s another indie gay movie coming your way—Walang Hanggang Paalam, starring Jacky Woo, Joem Bascon, Lovi Poe, Jake Roxas, Rico Barrera, Ricardo Cepeda and Tetchie Agbayani. Looks like they’re here to stay. The movie premieres on February 8, 8:00 PM at the Robinson’s Galleria.
Should I Visit Hilom?
My friend and I were planning to experience what it’s like to hire a masseur. He suggested a place somewhere in West Avenue, but today, I think I found just the right place to go—Hilom. Please click here to visit Hilom’s official website. But if anyone has visited Kinetic Spa somewhere in Cubao, please let us know if this is also a safe and ‘enjoyable’ place to go.
Meet Mike Tan
I must admit that I’ve fallen for Mike Tan when I saw his pictures from that magazine I never had. It might have something to do with that nakakatunaw stare and plain guiltless aura. I’m not sure why I haven’t heard that much of him on television. Isn’t he the winner of that show called StarStruck? I hope that this year will give us more from this sexy young bonbon. Mike Tan, according to Wikipedia, was born on 31 December 1986, in Angono, Rizal.

Sagwan's Trailer
First time I heard about the movie, I thought, “just another gay movie.” But I don’t have to be so pessimistic about local indie films, should I? Alright, I might not be a fanatic of serious, boring movies, but I give Sagwan the benefit of the doubt. Only because the trailer looks like it has an interesting story, and some scenes are just too naughty I could burst anytime. I hope they have a porno version of it. I promise to watch it onscreen on one condition, if I find someone who might be interested to go with me. I’ll start with friends, then online buddies.

Indie Film: Sagwan
Indie film lovers, don’t forget to check out Sagwan (lit. Paddle), featuring the Cappuccinos (not sure why they’re called as such, but if we have to be literal, maybe they’re smoking hot and more tasty with whip cream on top) and directed by Monti Parungao. The premiere night is on the 4th of February, at the UP Film Institute. Trivia: My friend told me there’s a prequel movie starring Jobert Sucaldito, and it’s called Sagwa (lit. Ugly). *LOL*

Birthday Special
Physically, emotionally, and spiritually, they do what they can to make the world better. They gravitate toward good feelings, good works, and good intentions. They enjoy living in the lap of luxury but never lose sight of the intangibles that make life worth living.

Adam Brody (1979), with Rachel Bilson
People born on this day are loners yet possess a magnetism that draws people to them. They are loyal and supportive to friends. They have trouble making sense of all but the most intense relationships, and usually give their heart only once. They have little problem keeping relationships separate from personal expectations.IƱaki UrdangarĆn, Duke of Palma de Mallorca (1968)
Family matters have an important place for those born on January 15. They have leadership potential and are often regarded as the scion of the family. As parents, they encourage their youngsters to develop independence and self-sufficiency yet are anxious to protect them from failures and disappointments.Max Beesley (1971), English musician and actor
Although blessed with general good health, January 15 individuals possess an extremely sensitive nature that can negatively affect their physical well-being. In order to retain emotional and physical equilibrium, it's important for them to practice meditation, especially before bedtime.Eddie Cahill (1978), from CSI: NY
January 15 natives know how to take care of business. Career goals play a vital role in their lives, though it may take a long time for them to discover where their deepest interests lie. When they do settle on a career, they give their all. They enjoy making money, although that isn't an especially important factor in their career choice.Simon Atkins (1988), Filipino basketball player
Although they wear the mask of practicality with conviction, people born on January 15 have a complicated nature. They want to create a legacy. Their dreams may be far more fanciful and creative than those who know them might expect. For this reason, they often turn to the creative arts for personal expression. Painting, writing, or music help them achieve their inner potential.Tuesday, January 13, 2009
On Pinoy Hotties 2008: Post your hotties here!
Pinoy Hotties, the Yahoo! Group I created prior to Simply Manila, is about to release the 2008 edition of the world’s most desirable Filipino actors, celebrities, sportsmen, models, etc. The initial list was created already, but we wanted to hear from Simply Manila readers, too, as it will be posted here like the previous editions. See: The Most Desirable Pinoy Hotties of 2006 and The 69 Most Desirable Pinoy Hotties of 2007. So it was Rafael Rosell in 2006 and Zanjoe Marudo in 2007, who do you think gets the top spot this year? Prepare your own list of last year’s most desirable hotties, no matter how long or short, and flaunt it in the ‘Post a Comment’ section of this entry. Your vote will be added to the final list which will be posted later on this month, maybe January 23.

Meet Hayden Kho
First, I know nothing about the controversy so I’m sorry if I can’t give you substantial details. Like you, I just knew it involves his recent break-up with the mother of all plastic surgeries in the Philippines, Dra. Vicky Belo. Not sure if it’s because of the alleged video scandal involving Kho and another male specie, or because of his alleged secret affair with Katrina Halili. Like I said, I just heard all of that. My Chinese friend insists the Katrina Halili part is true, he said it’s common in showbiz. But this could be a hoax. You can do some research and get back here to educate us. Meantime, here’s more of Hayden Kho, the plastic surgeon, ex-employee of the Belo Medical Group and previous Bodyshots 2000 contestant.

Merci Beaucoup, Les Hombres!
I know it's been there for a while now, but I haven't took time yet to say thank you for linking me up to your blog. You've been added to my 'Gay Blogs' list, too. I visited your site today, and I'm almost halfway through browsing those sexy pictures. I enjoyed 'em. (That's Jerome Ortiz as featured in their blog.) Thank you, Jack and Ritzmen64!

Hottest Men Lists
Filipinos love lists, like the rest of the world, especially me. Oh, yes, I have all kinds of crazy list—movies I’ve seen on the big screen, people included in my gift list for Christmas, grocery list, number of calls at work, cities visited, boyfriends, favorite malls, most played songs… name it. I love it when I’m able to track the things that interest me the most through these endless lists. It gives me peace of mind or makes me feel like I am somehow an organized individual. I visited several sites and blogs, too, and apparently, there are those that are just as proud as me in showing off their own list of people, events, places, memories from the previous year, among others. For instance, Migs of MGG showed gratitude to those who commented on his posts by listing down his Top Commenters, Miong showed us his list of favorite videos and men, Lyka Bergen posted a montage of the things he’ll do for this quarter, and a lot of other interesting lists from different sites. I have a lot of lists that I can share, but given the absence of men in my previous entries, let me show you the ‘king’ list of all lists that refer to sexy men who may have tickled your naughty minds in the year that was 2008.

Strip This Brapan Hottie
Hybrids are so hot right now. The fresh buffet of Brazilian-Japanese (or “Brapanese”, in case you’re out of the looks loop) models — sizzling Kobe-churasco meat on a stick — has proven to be a mix made in man-nequin heaven. When you’ve got the subdued heat of the rising sun and that carnal Brazilian charisma coursing through your genetically slick body, you’re pretty much guaranteed a prime billboard spot along Edsa — or a lineup of hoochies grabbing at your guns when you’re swinging by the club.
Click to see/hide the rest of this post.
Hideo Muraoka is a special strain of Brapanese, though. Sure, he’s got the blown-up torso on Edsa down, pumped-up and pouting in a pair of dark jeans for Folded & Hung. But you’d expect a little something different from a guy who was on his way to snagging a law degree, finishing up his first semester in Sao Paulo before deciding to live the life of a wanderer — racking up modeling jobs in Singapore, Thailand, and Hong Kong before heeding the advice of some American buddies and landing on this tropical side of the world.
Only a brief span of time in Manila and he’s also landed enough gigs to get the girls and gay boys all flushed in fascination. And while the city’s high-living nightlife and its strobe-seeking vampires tend to eat up a few good-looking imports, Hideo’s got his symmetric head on straight. “I’ve never been to Embassy. I don’t like to party too much and I only drink a little bit,” the 20-year-old admits. “I’d rather travel around the Philippines — go to beaches and tourist places with friends.”
There are other concerns as well apart from swaggering his way into the artista assembly line like a few of his colleagues have. When he flies back home next year, he might just do the unusually responsible thing and grab his degree, maybe shifting to a course in marketing or advertising. He could even fly back here, study Tagalog, and cover more ad space and a prime spot in television. Or hey, the guy could have the best of both worlds and claim both the degree and a mass-swaying decree in entertainment. The hybrid heat makes anything possible.
