Reality shows gained popularity in the Philippines few years back with Extra Challenge introducing this exciting genre to the Filipino audience. Since then, TV networks came up with their own reality shows that are mostly copycats and there are some adapted from popular TV shows abroad. In 2010, Pilipinas Got Talent premiered its first season, Survivor Philippines introduced its first ever celebrity edition, the multi-awarded Talentadong Pinoy showed its second installment, among others. The Amazing Race Asia, which is only viewable via cable, also introduced its newest season, featuring two teams from the Philippines. Other reality shows that premiered this year are Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Clash Edition, Star Factor, Star Power: Sharon's Search for the Next Female Pop Superstar, among others. Find out who we think are this year's Hottest Male Reality Stars.

This country is weird. The vast majority of the celebrities don't look at all like Filipinos. They are either half-Caucasian or half-Brazilian. I think Filipinos don't look at themselves in the mirror, and they have a major self-esteem issues.
Well, if you're saying Filipinos are ugly, you're wrong. If you're saying that we, most of the time, don't look like Asians, you're right. So I don't know where you're getting at.
I think the anonymous poster is right. Filipinos are short, brown-skinned with Asian facial features. These "celebrities" are tall, fair-skinned with Caucasian facial features. In other words, Filipinos don't look like these "celebrities" at all.
That's your opinion.
I think what's being said about Filipinos being short and brown skinned etc is very much a stereotype and discriminating. c'mon do you think all Americans are white and fair-skinned?? because they're not. being Filipino or American isn't about how one looks ...
To think this was an anonymous post also says alot about the person who posted it.
It's a relief reading that last comment. At least I know I'm not alone here anymore.
Filipinos think they are better off genetically by flaunting these half-Caucasian celebrities. Obviously, if you go around the Philippines, you don't see these people, because majority of Filipinos don't look like that. They are usually fair-skinned.
The Filipinos obviously look down on having dark skin, because they are ashamed of themselves. Almost all of them want to look Caucasian.
Ouch.
Dear Readers,
Above are seven reasons why I LOVE LOVE LOVE Simply Manila blog.
It's been on my Bent Culture link list(blog right) forever!
When I need to look at really cute Filipino guys, I go to Simply Manila Blog, or my Facebook which I am also totally addicted to.
I have HOT friends on my facebook. Hahaha.
The hottest!
Beautiful sexy gorgeous Filipinos.
I love Filipino men (and woman, but no bonking girls, hehehe) as a race because Filipinos don't really look Asian per se.
Filipinos are more islander looking to me, more exotic and softer and I've always loved island cultures all over the world.
Filipinos are not so hard edged or 'weird' like the other Asian countries like both of the Korea's and Japan. Let's face it, when the Japs travel to Boracay, you notice them.
And those newly wedded matchy matchy Korean couples on Boracay are STILL SEARED into my brain. They were real standouts!
Filipinos are the only 'Asian' race I'm attracted to.... on a mass scale.....
Although my Japanese sushi chef is absolute divinity on earth.....
I have some HOT Korean friends too...
Oh wait, I also know the hottest Chinese guy!
And when we were in Thailand......we went to Jupiter 3000.
HELLO Jupiter 3000!
Ok, I'm a 'new to the scene' rice queen.
But I HATE the term rice queen!
I was called that once on the blog and I was really offended.
Sorry, but I think the term rice queen is a derogatory label.
I'm more of a balut queen actually. Hahaha.
Not that I would EVER eat balut... much to my boyfriend's frustration and dismay!
I'm terrified of the beak!
DJ Montano was my first Asian boyfriend or partner PERIOD.
Yes, I had a really bad experience, but it did NOT deter me from snagging a Filipino boyfriend which I was VERY determined to do!
I wanted one.
And I got one.
And we're getting married soon.
Wheeeeeeee.......
