Next Attraction: Trabajador (2011)

I kind of wonder how this wedding in the United Kingdom became such a phenomenon in the Philippines. Is it just me or is everyone really talking about it? Well, it’s fine if it’s just me. Really. Anyway, the point of coming up with this post is to feature a new gay indie film called Trabajador. I heard about the movie less than an hour ago. See what the promotional e-mail has to say about the movie in verbatim: Special screening of indie movie Trabajador: Men @ Work on May 7, Saturday, 6:00 PM @ UP Videotheque, UP Diliman, Quezon City. Directed by Lucas Mercado, the seven actors in the movie don’t have qualms with M2M scenes and frontal nudity. Ticket (P500) available at the gate by 4:00 PM. For details, contact cell (number) 0920-296-5084. Ciao for now.

Before it all explodes

I realized I did not have any THANK YOU post for last week. Damn. I must have been very preoccupied with my personal life that I even forgot that weekly task. I am, in fact, tangled emotionally in a very different kind of relationship right now. Everything seems controllable at the moment, but I really do not have any idea as to how this one’s going to end. It’s such an irony that the song playing in my iTunes right at this very moment—Before It Explodes by Alexandra Burke featuring Bruno Mars, which was, by the way, also released as Charice’s first single off her second international album—is probably just the right song out there that could best describe how everything feels right now. It is a little depressing but life is a bitch. So, anyway, this one is the latest of all THANK YOU posts, but see the top posts, keywords and visiting countries after the jump. Ciao for now. Ciao. Ciao. Ciao.

The sexy men from the north!

I am afraid my on-and-off hiatus is now becoming a pattern. I hope this will end soon as I am surprisingly loving this old diversion of mine. For today, I am featuring some pictures from the photographer Jason Paul Laxamana, from his Facebook album Countryside Summer Men. I think that speaks for itself. I believe this is the second time I am featuring the works of this sparkling lensman. See more countryside men after the jump. Ciao for now.

Enjoy your Friday, folks!

The sexy Cheyenne Jackson

Let me cut to the sexy chase: Think about how many more years you have left of productive ovulating. Those aren’t eggs in those Fallopian tubes, they’re rare, exotic pearls. Well, I’m not sure if it’s just me but I find Cheyenne Jackson’s Glee character Dustin Goolsby as really handsome, good-looking and easy on the eyes, and also, gorgeous. This hairline is 85 percent my own and my sperm count is off the charts. Plus, he forgot to mention, hot. Like sizzling hot! Like hotter than Tuguegarao City’s 39.5 degrees Celsius recorded last Tuesday! He makes me a sinner this Good Friday! Damn. I have three things for you today, people: See more photos of Cheyenne Jackson after the jump; Watch Glee to relate; and, Follow me on Twitter. Ciao for now. And, oh, I just found out while digging for hot photos of this hunk, that he’s openly gay and has a partner named Monte Lapka. Damn, he’s my ultimate crush and fantasy nowadays.

Meet Nico Tortorella

I’ve seen a movie some time ago and it’s called Twelve, starring Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford. This post isn’t about that movie (I liked it, by the way!) but I wanted to feature this hottie who played the model in the movie. Meet the twenty-two-year old American actor Nico Tortorella. Apparently, Twelve is his first film and he also appeared or will appear in movies Scream 4 and The Lowenfish Party. See more pictures from him after the jump. It’s Maundy Thursday, guys, just allow me to feature some foreign hotties. Enjoy.

Farewell, AJ Perez!

It was a tragic day for the show business industry after recent headlines showed 18-year old, young actor AJ Perez died in a vehicular accident. He was gone before his career even blossomed and just like that, his world ended. I wasn’t able to update this blog for several days now, and I just noticed a while back that the short post about AJ Perez, which I recently published, is now the most popular post in Simply Manila. We will surely miss you, AJ Perez. Even though it’s quite delayed, you will see the most popular posts, keywords and visiting countries after the jump. Enjoy the holy week, SM readers. Ciao.

Sexy Michael Copon

He could pass for a Latino but Michael Copon, a Fil-Am singer-actor, would tell anybody who mistook him for one that he is Filipino — that is, as Filipino as pansit and sinigang and adobo which have been part of his diet since way back when. That’s why when he was offered to be the front act for Bruno Mars’ concert on April 7 at the Waterfront Hotel in Cebu and at the Araneta Coliseum on April 8, Michael said yes right away. “I’ve been looking forward to visiting the Philippines,” Michael told Funfare in an exclusive one-on-one last Sunday afternoon at his room at the Discovery Suites, barely 24 hours after he flew in from California (he lives in Studio City, a few minutes away from Universal Studios). He’s two weeks early for the concert — for a good reason. “It’s my first time here,” added Michael whose father is a Filipino and whose mother is an American. “I want to get acquainted with my dad’s birthplace. My aunts in the US have been telling me, ‘Michael, you need to go to the Philippines.’ My dad is from Cavite and my mom, well, is a mix of everything — American, German, Polish, etc.”

On TV: Binibining Pilipinas 2011

MANILA, Philippines—Shamcey Supsup, a magna cum laude graduate from the University of the Philippines who says she values good education over fame and fortune, won Sunday night’s Binibining Pilipinas pageant. The 24-year-old beauty from General Santos City, who also is an architecture board exams topnotcher, will represent the country in the Miss Universe pageant in Brazil in November. Her victory came as no surprise. Early in the competition, she received three special awards—Miss Talent, Miss Philippine Airlines and Miss Cream Silk. Donning three sashes and clasping bouquets in her arms, Supsup gained more confidence even before the swimsuit and evening gown competitions started. Hugh Wilson, consul general of the Australian Embassy, asked Supsup during the question-and-answer portion what worthy cause she supported. “Valuing education,” she replied. “You can have money. You can have fame. But in the end it can be taken from you. But education is something that cannot be taken away from you.” Her response was punctuated with a thunderous applause from the audience at the Araneta Coliseum.

It's the best April night yet

I went to the province of Bulacan last night as a guest to a friend’s friend birthday and it was earlier agreed that I will fuck (excuse my French) the host of the party but unfortunately his Kuya arrived from who knows where and will stay for the night. I ended up sleeping on the couch with him until the next morning, but no fucking since we are hammered to the bone. Last night’s party ended not because we’ve reached the last drop of alcohol neither because we have a curfew, but because everyone got so wasted that some have started a series of unspeakable occurrences. I had so much fun while others who embarrassed themselves claimed they can’t remember a thing the next morning. There was an attempt of a vampire to suck out blood through my neck but he only ended up leaving me with a hickey. LOL. I truly enjoyed the night and I hope all of you Simply Manila readers will enjoy yours tonight, however you enjoy life. So, anyway, it’s Sunday and I will end this post with last week’s top posts, keywords and visiting countries which you will see after the jump. P.S. Follow me on Twitter. It’s [now deactivated]. Ciao for now.

Jericho Rosales is sexier than nude

I woke up this morning feeling a little off and after reading a few chapters of Noli Me Tangere, I got a little nostalgic, worried and thoughtful again. I thought of how awful the results would be if the local movie industry will adapt this novel. Rizal’s genius doesn’t deserve such cheapness and whether this feeling roots from the fact that I’m reading a Penguin Classics novel, thanks to the brilliant new translation by Harold Augenbraum, I think that only a modern, supernatural-themed Pride and Prejudice-like adaptation will give justice to this great Filipino novel. I’m half-way through the novel, Chapter 28 to be exact, and I already get the feeling that Crisostomo Ibarra could get the same treatment Edward Cullen has endured, only seriously deeper. I spent a good time wishfully thinking of the best actors today who could probably best play the character of Ibarra. The likes of Jericho Rosales came to mind but they look a little older for the character. He played a periodic role in the film Baler, a film I called the most trying hard movie that year, and he was great with it, maybe he could play the role of the sexy Elias instead. Anyway, while I was browsing through some pictures of Echo, I realized how hard it is to find sexier pictures of him and, like how quickly I forgot about Noli, I spent more time browsing for sexy Jericho Rosales pictures. See what I’ve got so far after the jump. Enjoy.
