Sexiest Actor 2011
Every year, we love to name who we think are the sexiest celebrities and TV personalities in town. This year, so far, we have named the Sexiest Couple, Sexiest Beach Body, Sexiest Newcomer and Sexiest Male Athlete. Now that the year is coming to an end, we are unveiling more smoldering mortals who made the pages of our magazines blistering with fire, our TV screens glazing with allurement, and our silver screens awakening our voyeuristic tendencies. Due mainly to the success of the movie No Other Woman, we came into the conclusion that this year’s sexiest actor is no other than Derek Ramsay. Though he appeared mainly as the movie’s male accessory, we could not deny the fact no one could have fitted perfectly to the role he played as a vulnerable husband who got momentarily smitten by the flirtatious other woman. Every girl in Manilatown could go easily head over heels in love with the guy, if only he’s single and available. For so many other reasons, he is our indubitable Sexiest Actor this year.

Luis Manzano And His Haters
If there’s any poster boy for the most hated celebrity on Twitter, here thinks it will be Luis Manzano. The Pilipinas Got Talent host has embraced the 140-character-or-less format of Twitter, using the site to bash out haters every chance he gets. Here’s wondering how this semi-talented actor got so bitter with his life. Unfortunately for the people who lives in Lipa, Batangas, Luis Manzano seems like he’s on his way of filing his candidacy as mayor, emulating the footsteps of his successful mom, ex-Lipa mayor and now Batangas governor Vilma Santos. Here’s hoping he wont share the same fate as his dad whose dreams of entering the dirty world of politics shattered when he lost in the vice presidential race recently. Though for someone with nothing glowing in his political résumé and only relied mostly on his popularity as a staple TV personality to win votes, here could only imagine that the defeat didn’t really hurt that much. Simply Manila wishes you luck, Luis. And while we really don’t take pleasure by watching you getting stressed out by your haters on Twitter, we thank you for keeping all of us updated no matter how lame your tweets are sometimes.

No Words Can Describe
I honestly don't feel like blogging lately, not because I have nothing to share, in fact, I have loads of stuff in my head and I could use a good diversion like this. So the main reason why I don't even want to use my computer is because the new LCD I purchased is too big and I can't seem to adjust the resolution of its screen, so I feel like a high school student writing on a first grader pad paper. I'm thinking that it's about time for me to purchase a new Mac computer but I still don't know if I will go for a lappy or get a decent desktop, and it's just something I want to really decide on. So, anyway, it's been a long time since my last thank you post and this is the first in more than a month. I would like to thank all the people who recently visited Simply Manila even with the lack of updates and all. No words can describe how I am truly grateful. Private Carlos Agassi
During the press con of Praybeyt Benjamin last September 28, Carlos Agassi revealed that he had engaged in a gay relationship during his teens. The 32 year-old further shared that he never opened up about it before since no one dared to ask him about such a sensitive issue including his family and friends. “Mapili ako sa kaibigan e. Ang pinaka itinuring kong pamilya ko ay yung family ko talaga. So I guess they know, but they never talked to me directly the way [the press people] are talking to me about it now.”

When Push.com.ph asked him if he’s worried about the consequences of such a big revelation, Carlos explained that there’s no point regretting a past experience which made him a better person. “I can’t say I don’t care. But I don’t see anything wrong [with owning up to my mistake] because a person who’ll love me should love me for the person that I am right now. For what it’s worth, I’m grateful for my past mistakes because they made me a better person now. It’s just sad that whatever mistakes I did in the past are carried over to my present life.”
Although same sex relationships remain to be a debatable issue in the Philippine society and considered a taboo in most sects, Carlos said that it’s something that couldn’t be denied at this point in time. “There's nothing wrong with that. 2,000 years ago meron ng ganon. I mean, ayoko naman magmukhang masama sa mga extremists na ayaw sa bading, at ayoko rin naman magmukang masyadong open-minded about it. But let’s face the fact that it's happening. But I guess I can only speak for myself. If I do something, aaminin ko kahit mali man siya. At kung mali man, pagsisihan ko, knowing that it will make me a better person,” he reiterated.
