Have Fun Under The Sun!

Hello, Simply Manila friends and visitors. Today, I think, is the last day of April and we are half-way through one of the hottest summer seasons this tropic ever experienced. Was it true that one day we were at 36 degrees? Yes, it’s that hot in the Philippines nowadays but that won’t stop us from enjoying the beach, the booze, and each other. LOL. No wonder if those Beach Hut and other sunblock products are selling like hotcakes, too, along with board shorts and bikinis for the ladies. The Bubble Gang (my beach and booze buddies call ourselves that) went to Puerto Galera last weekend, and it was my second time in this popular Mindoro spot (the first time was in 2009). Puerto Galera shrunk in size with its countless visitors, making it too crowded. There are plenty of gay guys, too, but not really to a point where we can label the place a gay hub. I don’t think there’s a gay bar that exists somewhere. So, anyway, let’s sum up the week for Simply Manila by checking out last week’s top posts, keywords and visiting countries. Have fun, y’all.

I'm Just Lovin' It!

Since I got stuck in Siquijor for five days with two heterosexual friends, a guy and a lady, I started to gain weight like never before. OK, I gained a few pounds more than my normal weight of 142 lbs to 149 lbs. It’s crazy to look at myself with a little tummy, but… I’m… just… lovin’… it. It has always been my goal before, to gain a little more flab, so I can burn ‘em in the gym. I’m excited for that. Meantime, it’s summer! This explained the almost fully booked weekend, the sun-kissed skin, less time blogging, summer flings, among others. It was also in Siquijor when I almost burned every part of my skin, so I spent the past few days bathing with whitening soap, lotion and moisturizers before I hit the beach again this weekend. But this quick post is meant to THANK each and every one of you who took time checking out the hot guys in this blog. I may have lots of promises that never came true—they are, indeed, made to be broken—but I always make up for those broken promises. It’s never too late is another wise saying I learned in high school, so here comes my weekly Thank You post. Thanks for being with me in this journey. See you when I see you.

Janine Marie Tugonon, a 22-year-old beauty from Balanga, Bataan, was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2012 during the Coronation Night held at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday night, April 15, 2012. Janine is the pageant’s first runner up last year. She had to resign as runner-up to compete this year. Janine is a Pharmacy cum laude graduate from the University of Santo Tomas (UST). In 2010, she was the Miss Pharmacy and Miss UST title holder. She was hardly noticed in the course of the competition, but in the Question and Answer (Q & A) portion, she impressed the judges with her answer. Pageant judge Jose Manuel Rodriguez asked: “Many women nowadays forego a happy family life for a successful career. How do you feel about this?” Janine answered with confidence and ease, saying: “I believe that women have the right to choose between what they want. But for me, just go for what God wants you to do. Between the two, whatever it is, you must do your purpose in this world. Just have a child-like faith and mature obedience, and everything will go smooth.” Congratulations Bb. I got addicted to this series of Mr Coverboy videos which are rather rare to find online. I was able to download 3 videos, and I can only repeatedly watch the fourth video of that contestant who danced to the tune of Careless Whisper, but I’m still looking for the rest of the series. I believe there’s a hotter number and I saw it a few times before. Does anyone have a copy of the full video? Let me know how I could access it, please. Thank you.

Derek Ramsay Transfers To TV5

It’s official: Derek Ramsay is now a Kapatid. The former Kapamilya hunk signed a three year contract with TV5 Tuesday, April 10 at the Edsa Shangri-La hotel in Mandaluyong City. Present during the contract signing were TV5 President Ray Espinosa, TV5 Creative and Entertainment head Perci Intalan, and Derek’s manager Joji Dingcong. In an interview with Radyo5 News FM, Derek confirmed that his first project with the Kapatid network will be “The Amazing Race Philippines.” “Magsu-submit nga kami ng kaibigan ko ng tape para maging contestant (for “The Amazing Race”). Ngayon, ako yung magho-host so sobrang blessed ako,” he said. Derek said his decision was based on the projects TV5 offered him, explaining they were “closer to my passion.” “Walang kinalaman ang numero dito,” he said. In an interview with Yahoo! Philippines OMG! last week, Dingcong said Derek was also offered by TV5 to host the Philippine primer to this year’s summer Olympics. “Money is secondary (Derek comes from a well-to-do family). They (TV5) offered Derek a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Great Britain is his second country ( Derek is half-British, half-Filipino),” Dingcong said.
