Next Attraction: Here Comes The Boom

Here Comes the Boom is an upcoming film directed by Frank Coraci. Former collegiate wrestler Scott Voss (Kevin James) is a 42-year-old bored biology teacher in a failing high school. When budget cutbacks look like they might force the cancellation of the music program, which would result in its teacher (Henry Winkler) being laid off, Scott begins to raise money by competing as a mixed martial arts fighter to keep the program around.

On Jason Abalos: Cotton Club's New Guy

From gay blog authority RDDantes.com (in bold): And Monday we get an exclusive, actor and underwear model Jason Abalos, who is getting better and sexier every day. His new set of photos for Cotton Club underwear reveals a hotter and leaner Jason. When he's not doing indie flicks, Jason plays leading man in the afternoon soaps of his network. I love Jason's odd choices. Honestly, I have never heard of Cotton Club until today. He is just an impressive young actor.

Pants Down: Marcus Cabrera Is Hypnotizing

Marcus Cabrera looked like one of those faces we will find in talent search shows like StarStruck or Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition, but, as most of you know, this cute little chap actually started off as a sexy indie actor, and stuck at it at the moment. Or did he move out already from this modest sector of the Philippine movie industry? His stare hypnotizes me in a good way. If there is anything you know about this guy, kindly share ‘em to us. It seems like there are a lot of stories behind those sad, sad eyes, too. Good day, y’all.

How will you describe Johnron Tañada?

This picture is obviously taken over a year ago, yet my feelings for Johnron Tañada didn’t change a bit. LOL. He stood out! And those who disagree have defective eyes. LOL (again). What makes Johnron tick? Let’s take it from Johnron-related comments in past Simply Manila posts: El Toro Bumingo says, “Lakas ng dating ni Johnron :)” I know, right? Edward praised Johnron’s acting prowess: “I was able to see his comeback movie, Kape Barako at UPFI and he's quite good in that movie.” That I can see. Posh_J says he (or is it she?) “just love this guy.” Yet another anonymous comment shared a scoop: “Prosti na si Johnron sa Macau.” Me, on the other hand, in 2007, thinks he is divine. So, how will you describe Johnron?

Mr. Philippine Republic North: Patrick Galang

Here is another male pageant we failed to acknowledge from last year: Mr. Philippine Republic North. Hmmm, sounds like it is getting more boring and boring when it comes to title choices. But mind you, the organizing committee has assigned a well-informed background checker. Here is one contestant from the said event: PATRICK GALANG. Patrick has ideas as bright as his smiling face. Striving to pursue a degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, he wants to establish himself as a successful hotelier or restaurateur. His ambitions are anchored on the belief that “Life is what you make it.”

The sweet lovebirds of Kubli

Here are indie film actors Johnron Tañada and Eugene Tejada, looking like a sweet gay couple for the 2012 indie movie Kubli. From Masahista Review: Johnron Tañada, a veteran of bikini competitions, former member of Viva’s Men of Provoq, has already appeared in other indie films such as Viva’s “Kambyo”, “Lovebirds” (with Joseph Ison and Boots Anson Roa), “Lukaret” (with Glydel Mercado), etc. His sexy video under Viva Records entitled “Hubad” is one of the company’s best selling videos to date.

Now Watching: Young Adam (2003)

Young Adam is a 2003 British drama film written and directed by David Mackenzie. The screenplay is based on the 1954 novel of the same name by Alexander Trocchi. The film is set in Scotland in the early 1950s. Shiftless young drifter Joe Taylor works on a barge which operates from Glasgow, on the River Clyde, along the Forth and Clyde and Union Canals to Edinburgh. He shares the cramped on-board living quarters with its operators, Les and Ella Gault, and their young son Jim. One day Joe and Les pull the body of a young woman, naked except for a petticoat, from the water. Via flashbacks, we learn Joe knew her, and scenes involving his relationship with office worker Cathie Dimly are juxtaposed with those set in the present time.

Mr. Philippine Republic North: Rommel Torres

Here is another male pageant we failed to acknowledge from last year: Mr. Philippine Republic North. Hmmm, sounds like it is getting more boring and boring when it comes to title choices. But mind you, the organizing committee has assigned a well-informed background checker. Here is one contestant from the said event: ROMMEL TORRES. Rommel exudes a pleasant bearing behind his strong, well-formed built. 6-foot tall at 21, his ambition to become an international model and a successful businessman altogether is not far from being possible. Hard work and dedication he stresses are primary ingredients of success.

Meet John Brian Austria

He probably won’t remember it but I hang out with this guy when I was in high school, which was already over a decade ago. He was the reason why I purchased this magazine because he mentioned he was featured in it. It’s called L and I don’t know where it is now. I don’t know but it seemed to me that I was so bizarrely different when I was in high school, like I was a stranger even to myself. If I could go back in time, I would do things so differently than what actually happened. But we have all gone through immaturity and we have all learned our lessons. It’s just one big “what if” moment I wish would happen. Damn, this blog-hoppin’ brings back old memories. And I love it.

Dirty Talk: Miko Pasamonte On Sex

“May kasamang pagmamahal. Nabibilaukan? “Nasasarapan sila. At natatakot. “Why should I?”

Ooh La La! The Ozu you want to see!

Thanks to an anonymous comment, we've got a lead to where we could find the rest of that Ozu Ong picture featured here a few days ago. And it comes with a funny caption/story. See for yourself. If x and y are integers and xy + x^2 is odd, which of the following statements must be true? Well, the options are not in here, but tell us what you think.

Meet Masukista's Mikho Madrid

Meet Mikho Madrid, a Pinoy indie actor who will appear in the upcoming movie Ang Masukista. (Or has this movie been shown?) I haven't been paying attention but I have seen several so-so pictures like this all over the net. What do you think people should watch this movie? I am tired of judging, so judge for yourself. LOL. For now, how do you find Mikho Madrid?

On Zac Efron: The Sexy Do-It-Yourself Hottie

From Stars Caught Naked (in bold): A truly perfect looking guy can make any ordinary daily routine look like one big event! Here’s the gorgeous Zac Efron doing just that! He’s filling up some gas in these hot pics and this guy just look so marvelous! Zac Efron is definitely hot… and I’d love to be filling him up. How I wish we have something like this in the Philippines, and I meant the do-it-yourself gas refill. Of course, Zac Efron is hot, but we have lots of celebrities, too. There is no need to look somewhere else for that. But, yes, Zac Efron is Zac Efron.

It's that time of the week again!

Daniel Matsunaga with fellow Brapanese Fabio Ide for Fit 'N Right
By the time I was writing this post, it was almost twilight, and I was starting to stink. But before I think it’s time to hit the sack or the shower, whichever I will feel like doing, I felt like I needed to write this ‘thank you’ post first. Yes, it is that time of the week again, and I am not apologizing for not updating this blog for two straight days. As a matter of fact, I think I am having a break very soon. But until then, keep posted for upcoming blog updates. So, what’s up with Simply Manila last week? See the popular posts, search keywords and visiting countries below.

On TV: Best Men's Kayod Marino

From Miong21 (in bold): Watch Best Men tonight as they battle it out with our local troops in 'Kayod Marino' on GMA News TV Channel 11.  Best Men is hosted by Jun Veneracion, RJ Ledesma and Jace Flores. Sorry for copying this post Miong, but I think this is a great find. I am a self-confessed TV ignoramus as you all know (well, partly), so I am thankful that some bloggers found it in their hearts to share what is worth sharing, and this is definitely worth sharing here. I have always witnessed the competitive edge of GMA when it comes to documentary shows, and I’m thankful they can actually come up with stuff like this. Kudos to Best Men!

Hari ng Negros: The Negrense Tradition

While most, if not all, winners of this contest did not end up in the modelling industry or in showbiz, we are still grateful to see that such an event, which is ubiquitous in Metro Manila, exists in the provinces, too. And it's kind of unique, too, knowing that I haven't heard any male beauty pageant anywhere else in the Philippines which starts with King on its title. Yes, I am talking about King of Negros, but does it mean that this year is their last edition? Or am I just confused with their choices of words? I will try to feature their past winners here in the days to come.
